This week's podcast is our very first on training and we're fortunate to have with us Cindy Ludwig, a certified trainer with the Karen Pryor Academy to introduce us to the basics. She's the owner of Canine Connection in Dubuque Iowa and a specialist in clicker training and a frequent contributor to Finding Fuzzybutt Four. If you, like me, don't know where to begin this is the perfect podcast for you.
Positive training works for all dogs, even high drive dogs. Please see the video:http://www.canis.no/ekurs/14-us-clicker-training-high-drive-dogs.html Also the post: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGZnQlFevf0
ReplyDeleteIt can be hard to let go of previous beliefs, but positive training is something that will never create an aggressive dog and will only improve the bond. Try it - you'll like it!
Great job, Cindy! Hope people will listen to your wise words!
They say that your children are a reflection of yourself and I am one stubborn woman. With that being said, I have my work cut out for me. This podcast came at a great time as he is testing his limits. Thank you Cindy for taking the time to share your knowledge and allow for those that follow to understand that there are many ways to train. I truly enjoyed it.

Reward Based Training and specifically clicker training is the most effective training method I've found. I started out in traditional training but switched over to clicker training and got more done in less time and my dog LOVES training now!
